Passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loving family, at Carbonear General Hospital, Wednesday, July 8, 2015, Levi Charles Samways, of Bay Roberts, aged 70 years. Predeceased by parents Isaac and Ethel Samways, mother and father-in-law Jacob and Rebecca Smith, brother Isaac Samways Jr., two infant sisters, and sister-in-law Donna Goodwin (Smith). Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Doreen Samways (Smith), sisters: Emma Samways, Rose Dwyer, Mabel (Randall) Mayo, Valerie (Sterling) Critch; brothers: Leonard Samways, Gus (Heather) French, sister-in-law Gail (Russell) Vincent; brothers-in-law: Gary (Carolann) Smith, Wayne (Linda) Smith, Gerald Goodwin; a large number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous Godchildren. Also a large circle of friends and his wonderful neighbours of 43 years Corbett and Eileen Newman, and his special friend Jackie Tuttle. Visitation to take place at Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts Thursday from 7 - 9pm, Friday 10am - 9pm, Saturday 10am - 12pm. A celebration of Levi's life will take place at St. John the Evangelist Church, Coley's Point on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2pm with interment to take place immediately afterwards at the St. John the Evangelist Church Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church Cemetery Fund or a charity of one's choice.
