On Friday, July 10, 2015 at 69 years of age, Danny Lewis passed away peacefully in his sleep in Glace Bay Hospital with his family by his side.
Danny was predeceased by his parents, Mae MacLeod-Lewis and Freeman 'Buddy' Lewis as well as an infant sister, Emily.
He is survived and will be dearly missed by his family, Ann, his wife of 50 years; two daughters, Kim Fowler (Richard) and Leah Lewis; grandson, Matthew Arnold, as well as six siblings, Leah MacLean (Doug), Stephen Lewis (Helen), Bryne 'Buddy' Lewis, Emily MacIsaac (Jimmy), Jean Anne McNeil (Stewart) and Catherine MacLeod (Karl) and nieces and nephews.
Danny grew up in the hub neighbourhood and always had a fondness for animals, especially cats. Danny’s family along with those who knew him will miss his loving and gentle spirit.
Visitation will take place from 1– 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14th at Patten Funeral Home in Glace Bay with the funeral service starting at 3 p.m.
