The death occurred at his home in Halifax, on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, of Floyd MacQuarrie, formerly of South Rustico, in his 43rd year.
Floyd was the beloved son of Walter and Caroline (nee Gavin) MacQuarrie and Ronnie and Tranette Arsenault; and the beloved father of Victoria, Stephanie, Morgan, Mason, Nicole, Chas and Merayla. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers, Elaine Duffy (Shawn), Jason MacQuarrie (Lori), Marsha Arsenault (Shawn), Stacy Arsenault, Greg Arsenault and Kerry Arsenault. He was a special uncle to James, Devon, Shauntae, Logan and Lucas; and the beloved grandson of Stella and the late Cecil Gavin, and Charles and the late Minnie MacQuarrie. He will be fondly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his best friend and uncle, Harold Gavin; and his aunt, Darlene Ford.
Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Friday, July 17, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, South Rustico, on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place later in St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery, Tignish.
