Marjorie Murphy

Marge Murphy
May 3, 1927 – July 30, 2015

Mrs. Marjorie Ruth Murphy (nee Austin) passed away peacefully at her place of residence in Prince Albert, SK on Thursday July 30, 2015 at the age of 88 years, with members of her family at her side. Marge was born on May 3, 1927 in Moose Jaw SK to Ralph Stewart Austin and Annie MacDonald Paton. She married Milton Neurauter of Northside, SK and had two sons, Terry and Garry. After Milton’s untimely death, Marge married Reg Murphy of Paynton, SK. They continued to live in the Prince Albert district and added two daughters and two more sons to the family: Penny, Pat, Jim and Jack. Marge loved knitting, crocheting, canning, garage sales, playing cards and anything her family was involved in. She enjoyed traveling to casinos with a group of friends (and a twenty dollar limit), and was able to make a few trips overseas as well. She was available to help when most newborn babies came home from the hospital and was a pro at packing and moving households, not because she moved a lot but because her kids did. Her grandkids and then great grandkids received unconditional love and pretty much whatever they wanted that Marge had in her power to give. Marge was predeceased by her parents; both husbands; brothers Barry and Russel, and son Jack. She leaves to mourn her passing but also to celebrate a vibrant and well-lived life, her children Terry (Sherry) Neurauter of Big River; Garry (Luella) Neurauter of Saskatoon; Penny (Rick) Simpson of Edmonton; Pat (Clay) Wills of Lloydminster; Jim (Jocelynn) Murphy of Calgary; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; her sister and best friend Donna (Gil) Tisserand of Prince Albert; and brothers Bill (Norma) Austin of Sherwood Park; Bob (Helene) Austin of Surrey; and Brian (Patricia) Austin of Medicine Hat.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Good Shepherd Villas for the excellent care and personal attention that Mom received during the many years she lived with you. You truly made it her home and became part of her family. We cannot thank you enough.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Roque Concepcion. Interment will be held at a later date. Lunch will follow the Mass. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Hemophilia Society, 2366 Avenue C North, Saskatoon, SK S7L 5X5. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
