It is with heavy hearts that we the family of David Brian Morrison announce his passing on Aug. 4 in Orangeville, Ont., after fighting a brave battle with cancer. He was 64.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Murray and Caroline (Crane) Morrison.
He moved to Mississuaga as a young man in the early 1970s and worked for many years with Kimberley Clarke and then Astra Precision Components until the time of his illness.
For the past year, he lived with sister Beverly and her family who took wonderful care of him during his illness. Dave was a quiet man who cared deeply for his family. He was a loving son, brother and uncle.
Dave is survived his seven siblings, Marie Hill, Sydney; Stanley (Delores) Morrison, Burton, N.B.; Kenneth (Darlene) Morrison, Westmount; Beverly (Walter) Steele, Orangeville, Ont.; Donald Morrison, Sydney; Gary (Mary Ann) Morrison, Westmount; Robert (Barry) Morrison, Sydney. He was also uncle to 14 nieces and nephews as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dods and McNair Funeral Home Orangeville. Cremation has taken place. As per Dave's wishes, there will be a private family service in Orangeville and Sydney at a later date.
He will be buried with his parents in the Hardwood Hill Cemetary.
Memorial donations can be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. A tree will be planted in Dave's memory at the Dods and McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville with a dedication service to be held Sept. 17, 2015, and 2:30 p.m.
