Karen Frenette

FRENETTE, KAREN LYNN
Karen Lynn Frenette, beloved daughter of Barbara (McHugh) Frenette and the late Claude Frenette passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 7, 2015 after a lengthy illness.
She was born on December 7, 1973 in Saint John, N.B. and is survived by her sister, Susan Marie Cooper (Steven) of Dartmouth, N.S. and her brother, Dr. Thomas Patrick Frenette (Maryse) of Dieppe, N.B.; also, many aunts and uncles, a niece and nephew and cousins.
Karen was a 1994 graduate of Samuel de Champlain and, despite her many disabilities, loved life and the counselors who assisted her to meet her potential and for this her parents were always grateful. Karen volunteered for many years at Hazen White-St. Francis School with counselor Lisa Garnet (Hatfield) and made visits to the West Branch Library with counselor Ashley Tayes. All these activities enhanced her life. Many outings with Stacey Gimby over twenty-nine years also enriched her life.
Karen’s faith was strong and this helped her through all the struggles in her life and she prayed daily to be like herself again and to be fiercely independent.
As parents we created endless love for her and set the standard of care and attention for a happy, safe home, taking care of every want and need while keeping a permanent smile on her face as well as ours. Throughout life Karen carried fond memories of her early childhood and school days along with her many pets and camping experiences in Bathurst.
As a mother I wish to acknowledge all those who cared for Karen over the years at home and during her declining health at the Saint John Regional Hospital. They all made this difficult journey more bearable. Sincere thanks to Dr. Daniel Scott and to Dr. David Meek for their compassionate care and kindness over the many years.
