Ambrose Throne passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center, St. John's on Friday August 15, 2015 (age 83 years) surrounded by his family. Leaving to mourn: his wife Matilda Thorne; his children Elsie Drodge (Carl), Robert Thorne (Sharon) and Christine Quinlan (Greg); his grandchildren Lori Quinlan, Kendell Oliver (Greg), Amanda Gresik (Ben) and Ashley Drodge; his great-grandchildren Shaylee and Greyson Oliver; his sisters Fannie Fagner and Gertie Gillingham (Tom); his brother-in-law Wilfred Riggs; also his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by; his parents Martha and William Thorne; his sisters Jane Benson, Mae Gillingham and Eleanor Riggs; and brothers-in-law Albert Fagner, Wallace Benson and Sam Gillingham. Cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving friends at Greens Funeral Home, Winterton on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 1-2 pm. Interment to follow at 3 pm at the Brownsdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
