Kathleen Mary Thomson, age 88, passed away peacefully at Melville Lodge on Aug. 19, 2015.
Born May 9, 1927, she was the eldest daughter of the late Simon and Virginia Burke.
Kathleen is survived by her sisters, Helen Mountain (Clary), Theresa Pottie (Albert), Marjorie Klingmann (Gunter). Mom also leaves behind daughter, Nancy Stewart (Wayne); son, Stephen (Marsha) and Louise Thomson (Murray); grandchildren, Sean Garrison and Sheri-Lynn Waterman (Garwin).
Kathleen was predeceased by her loving husband, Hugh in 2000; sister, Beatrice Swann (Leonard) and brother, John Burke.
Mom had two main joys in life: the memories of her and dad out on their motorcycle, cruising the roads of Halifax County and her two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Garrison and Hunter Jacobs, who were always at the house.
Known in her neighborhood in Cape Breton as "God's Clown", she will be missed by her many friends.
The family would like thank Inez, Ethel, Mary and Linda, for all the love they gave to mom and dad. Special thanks to the staff on "East Wing", Melville Lodge for making her feel at home and to Raymond and Danika who were there to care for her in her last days.
As per mom’s wishes, cremation will take place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., Halifax, with a burial in River Bourgeois at a later date.
