It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, Robert Alexander Keagan, age 53, a resident of Guelph, Ont., and formerly of North Sydney, on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, at his home in Guelph.
Born in North Sydney, Robert was the son of the late Reginald and Hattie (Dunphy) Keagan. He was a former member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
He is survived by his brother, Lloyd (Tina) Keagan, Pembroke, Ont.; four sisters, Darlene (Jack) Ashford, Madonna Keagan, Nancy Keagan, all of North Sydney, Patricia Sykes, Sydney; also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by a sister, Carol Anne; two brothers, Rickey Keagan and John Hines.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. A burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
