George Allan MacPherson

With great sadness we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of George MacPherson on Aug. 26, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
George was the son of the late Allan and Sarah MacPherson. He was a former employee of the Sydney steel plant, and more recently Membertou Market. George enjoyed his years at the market and his family is extremely grateful for all that his "work family" have done for George.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jeannie (Reid). They were blessed with their two beloved daughters, Kari (Russell) MacPherson, and Allana (Chris) MacPherson, who cared for their father until his final moments. Also family friend, Laurena Clarke, who George treated as a third daughter. George's blessings continued with the light of his life, his only grandson, Dawson, whom he admired and adored, also Melanie Sampson, who he treasured like his own granddaughter. Also left to mourn the loss of George are his sisters, Carmel (Dave) Sparling, Eileen (Leo) Peters, Elizabeth (Allan) MacSween, Hazel (Peter) MacAskill, Greta, Mary, Sarah, Nora, Natalie and brothers, Lloyd (Helen), Louis (Deloris). Along with his many siblings George will be sorrowfuly missed by his brother-in-law, Earl (Evelyn) Reid and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Judy (Eric) MacAskill and Sylvia (Allison), along with his brother, Lawrence (Pat).
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
