TRITES, ELIZABETH "BETTY" ALBERTA - Elizabeth “Betty” A. Trites, 85, of Moncton, with her loving daughter at her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, August 30, 2015. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Sackler) MacKinnon.
Betty trained at the Ottawa Civic Hospital as a nurse and worked at The Moncton Hospital until her children were born. Betty was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and spent the majority of her life as a faithful homemaker. She was a member of Hillside Baptist Church, the WMS and Hillside Seniors Group. She was a lifelong reader, enjoyed bowling, hosting games nights with friends and spending time with family.
Betty will be sadly missed by her daughter, Krista Patriquin of Riverview and by many extended family members. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Neil Trites (September 1997); daughter, Karen Marquis (August 1991); brothers, Reginald and Bruce and sister, Janet.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 10:30 am, with Rev. Dr. John Weiler officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
