Hugh Douglas "Junior" Schofield - 70, of New Minas, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late Hugh and Hazel (Jennex) Schofield. A Jack-of-all-Trades, Junior worked for various companies and was employed at different times as a cook, carpenter, painter and mechanic. He was good-natured, an avid prankster and was always active, even into his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia (Coldwell); five sons, John (Jennifer Rideout Boyce), Kentville; Stan (Charlene), Bowmanville, Ontario; Scott (Tammy), Cambridge; Terry, New Minas; Tony, Kentville; six sisters, Darlene (Dewey) Forsythe, British Columbia; Linda (Ralph) Pietersma, Port Williams; Bernice (Doug) MacLaren, New Minas; Betty Davis, Centreville; Marilyn (Archie) Weir, Kentville; Margaret (Darren) Spencer, New Minas; a brother, Harold "Tubby" (Bernadette), Cape Breton; 16 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
