Ludwig Leo Kasbrick
November 9, 1926 – September 1, 2015

Ludwig ‘Leo’ Kasbrick passed away peacefully at the age of 88 years on September 1, 2015 in St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon with his loving wife and family at his side. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 61 years, Irene; children, Larry (Mavis) Kasbrick, Janet Kasbrick, and Sandra (Charles) Caze. Also mourning their loss is his grandchildren, Ashley (Jay) Curtis, Justin (Samantha) Kasbrick, Brennan Kasbrick, Teah Caze and Bryson Caze as well as his great-grandchildren, Olivia and Jhett Curtis. Leo was predeceased by his parents, Veronica and Stanley Kasbrick; brothers, Johnny, Jacob, Alfred and Ted; sisters, Florence and Clara; as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Born in Wakaw, Saskatchewan in 1926 Leo was raised in the Reynaud-Basin Lake area until age 8 when he moved with his parents to the Hazel Lake-Yellow Creek district and attended Hazel Lake School. He married his beloved wife, Irene Logue, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan were they made their long-time home and raised their family. He worked as a projectionist for 31 years at the Strand Theatre/Cinema Four as well as operated a successful radio and television repair business. Leo had a passion for gardening and was an avid Saskatchewan Rough Rider fan. He thrived on his friendships and will always be remembered for his contagious smile. The family wishes to express sincerest appreciation to the doctors and nurses on Unit Surgical 5B and the Palliative Care Team at the St. Paul’s Hospital for their compassionate care during his brief stay. A Memorial Service will be held at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H9 or the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Saskatchewan Branch https://www.kidney.ca/sk/.
