The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, September 10, 2015, of Gertrude Laurinda (nee Gallant) Myers of Summerside and formerly of Miscouche, aged 91 years. Laurinda was born in Duvar to her late parents Rufus and Irene (nee Dunn) Gallant. Beloved wife of the late Eddie Myers and loving mother of Rufus (Florence) of Summerside, Patricia (Bernie) Peters of Miscouche, Ted (Linda) of Alberta, Ralph (Jenny), Elaine (Steve) Pender, Donna (Frank) Primi all of Toronto, ON., Linda (Donnie) Gallant of Summerside, Gary (Cindy Hippenstall) of St. Nicholas, Darlene (Mauro) Brancaleoni of Toronto, ON., Ron (Andrea) of Slemon Park, Marie (Gerald) Germaine of Barrie, ON., and Ricky (Sharon) of Miscouche. Also lovingly remembered by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law. Besides her parents and husband, Laurinda was predeceased by her daughter Laverne Doucette, two daughters in infancy, grandson T.J. Myers, her daughter-in-law Kim Myers, her sisters Regrata O’Brien and Millicent Jeffery and brothers Comillus and Ralph Gallant. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Monday, Sept. 14, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche, for a funeral mass at 3 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Laurinda’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
