It is with great sadness the family of Malcolm David 'Dave' Campbell, 73, of Moncton, announce his passing at his residence on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015.
Born in New Waterford, N.S., he was the son of the late Murdock and Catherine (McCormick) Campbell. Dave spent the first part of his working life with Canada Post and later retired as a self-employed entrepreneur. His passion was his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed exploring the Campbell family roots and tracking his ancestors. Dave was an avid sports fan including bowling and following the Toronto Blue Jays, the Maple Leafs and the Moncton Wildcats.
Dave will be sadly missed by his daughter, Jeanine Chavarie (Claude) of Moncton; sons, Francis 'Frank' (Dr. Margaret Dunnett) of Colpitts Settlement and Glenn (Tara Chitnis-Campbell) of Ottawa, Ont.; three granddaughters, Katie Campbell, Clara-Jean Campbell and Maya Campbell; grandsons, Eric McGuigan and Will Campbell; step-grandson, Scott Chavarie; former wife and friend, Claudia (Fraser) Campbell; sister, Anna Eddy (late Arnold) of Tantallon, N.S.; brothers, Steve (Karen) of Barachois, Rod (Ute) of Toronto, Ont. and John (Johanna) of Sydney, N.S.; sister-in-law, Margaret 'Ducky' Campbell of Charlottetown, P.E.I., as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Tony.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Dave’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Gene Fisher officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Private interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s memory may be made to the N.B. Heart & Stroke Foundation.
