Rose Antionette Boudreau
Lieu de naissance : Grand Etang
Date de naissance : 27 août 1919
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Rose Antionette Boudreau (Doucet).
Born Aug. 27, 1919, in Grand Etang, Inverness County, she was the daughter of the late John and Louise (Cormier) Doucet.
Mom was a resident of the MacGillivray Guest Home and formerly of Riverview Drive, Sydney River, and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Known to family as Nana she enjoyed making puzzles and playing cards and bingo and had a unique talent as a cook. Her chicken fricot and meat pie were sought by many and enjoyed by all, as well her 'wink' that would melt a heart.
She was predeceased by her husband, Amedie Boudreau, brothers, Joseph, Hector, George, Willie James and Leonard. Also sisters, Viola, Sophie, Catherine, as well as grandson Kerry.
She is survived by brother, Lomer Doucet (Domitilde); son Leonard (Elaine); grandchildren, Robert Ph.D. (Randy Lynn Newman Ph.D.), Ellen Ph.D. (Michel Charette Ph.D), John (Julie); and great-grandchildren Nathan Charette, Olivia and Madeleine Boudreau.
The remains will rest at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., on Sept. 24, 2015, with visiting hours from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Sept. 25 commencing at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River with Fr. Duaine Devereaux officiating with an interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
The family wishes to express their sincerest thanks to the management and staff of the MacGillivary Guest Home for the excellent care and dedication shown to our mother over the last number of years. Believe me when I say that I will miss seeing staff on my daily visits.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the MacGillivary Guest Home.
