The family of the late Gordon Thorne, lovingly acknowledge the peaceful passing on Saturday, September 19, 2015, of a father, grandfather, at the age of 64 years. Predeceased by his father: Frank Thorne and sister: Barbara Grant. Survived by his mother Eliza Thorne. Leaving to mourn his loving companion: Joy (Pilgram); children: Tamara (Eric), Deleena (David), Paul (Chanda) and Tyler, seven grandchildren; sisters: Shirley, Carol, Valerie (Bob); brothers: Cec (Linda), David (Judy), Harold (Sharon) and Rick (Mary). Gordon enjoyed an amazing and long lasting career in the military to the rank of Warrant Officer that took him many places all over the world where he met good and lasting military friendships. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 2:00 pm. - 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be take place at the Pentecostal Church, Park Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Columbarium.
