It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Ethel Vaters on September 21, 2015 at Maple Hill Manor.
Born in Reserve Mines, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Eva (Waye) MacKenzie.
Ethel is survived by daughter Debbie (Ted) VanEverdink, Grand Prairie, Alberta, son Arthur (Judy), Glace Bay, grandchildren Ashley and Jessica, Grand Prairie, Alberta; sister Georgina (Stan) Penny, brother Kenny MacKenzie and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides parents she was predeceased by husband Allister, brother Clarence MacKenzie, infant sister Emily and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation for the late Ethel Vaters will be held on Friday September 25, 2015 from 7-9pm in Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St, Glace Bay. Funeral will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 11am in Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating.
Donations may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Center or the Alzheimer Society.
