It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Pauline 'Paula' Dilney on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born Sept. 17, 1951, she was a daughter of Steven and Agnes (Weeks) Dilney.
Paula was a wonderful person, who cared for everyone around her. She had a unique sense of humour, she touched all who knew her. She welcomed everyone into her home. She loved baking and cooking for her friends.
Paula is survived by her loving spouse Stephen O’Leary and her daughter Lisa (Shawn) Munroe; grandchildren, Cody and Alesha; stepchildren Terri Lynn and Stephen. She is also survived by her sisters, Donna, Martina, Bernie; brothers, Basil and Harry (Chookie); special aunt Mary; as well as several nieces and nephews. Paula will be deeply missed by her family and special friends, as well as her buddies at the French Club.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Stephen Dilney and nephew Stephen Gale.
A celebration of Paula’s life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, in the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel; 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with a reception will follow. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
