We, the family, are heartbroken to announce the sudden death of our beloved son, husband, brother, uncle, great uncle and nephew Walter Byard, 59 on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015.
He was born in Guysborough, and lived in Sydney.
Walter is survived by his loving wife, Kim Byard; father, Owen Byard; brothers, Ray (Brenda), Owen Jr. (Berta), Doug (Linda), Alan (Lisa), Clare (Valerie); sisters, Gail Borden and Janice Byard (Norman); several nieces and nephews, two great-nephews and one great-niece, as well as several aunts and uncles.
Walter was predeceased by his mother, Gussie, also several aunts and uncles.
The family extends sincere thanks to the dialysis unit and nurses at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving visitors on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, from 4-9 p.m. at the Sunnyville United Baptist Church. A funeral service will take place on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Clara Jordon to officiate. Burial to take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorials in memory of Walter may be made to the Kidney Foundation or charity of choice.
