HACKETT, MARIE
Marie Elise (Elsie) Hackett, 67, of Villa Providence, Shediac, formerly of Shediac Cape, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC following a lengthy illness.

Born December 31, 1947 in Shediac, she was the daughter of the late Nelda (née Clements) and the late Clovis Fougère.

Marie was retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force and also from the Corps of Commissionaires. She also worked as a support worker for people with disabilities for many years.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Leroy Hackett; two daughters: Tawnya Stringer (Christopher) and Heather Hackett-Ker (Stephen); four grandchildren: Caleb, Mason, Ryleigh, and Isabella; three sisters: Corinne Howard (Lorne), Margaret-Ann LeBlanc (Eugene), and Marie-May LeBlanc (Valmond); sister-in-law, Margaret Hughes (Robert); many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brother, Oscar Clements (Linda).

The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297). Visiting hours Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, 11 St. Andrews Street, Pte-du-Chêne, Wednesday, October 14 at 3 pm.

In memory of Marie, a contribution to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. As Marie was a generous and loving woman, an act of kindness, performed in her memory is also suggested, as a remembrance, by her family. She served with love and kindness, all who knew her.
