GORDON JACKSON
April 6, 1944 - October 13, 2015
After a courageous battle with interstitial lung disease, Gordon passed away at home with his wife at his side. Gordon moved from Alberta to work in Vancouver in the audio visual field in the early ’70s. He helped with the installation of sound systems at the Planetarium and the Cave Supper Club. He was a business partner in an automative supply business for many years before becoming a real estate agent and retired to the Sunshine Coast in 1999. He travelled the world and was a student of life. Gordon loved photographing the people and places he visited and sampling local foods on his travels. He recreated the dishes in his kitchen for family and friends. His collector cars brought him great joy, and slaloming gave him a thrill. Gordon was a kind and generous human being.
Gordon will be missed by his wife of 42 years, Elaine, his brother Bill (Karen), nephews Ryan (Pam) and Aaron (Alyson), his grand-niece and nephews, the Lackey cousins, family and friends.
Thank you to Dr. Lehman, the palliative care team, the home support nurses and the home care workers who made it possible for Gordon to stay at home where he wanted to be.
A heartfelt thank you to Victoria, Deny, Betty, Barb and Dale for helping make Gordon’s last few days the best they could be. You were his angels.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Gastrointestinal Society or your favourite charity.
Rest in peace Gordon, you will be missed.
