It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Chuck Murphy; Chuck passed away suddenly, Friday, Sept. 29, 2015, in Red Deer, Alta., where he had resided for the past 25 years.
Born in Toronto, he was the son of Carolyn Murphy and the late Kenneth Boutilier. While living in Reserve Mines, he was a member of Gordon United Church.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, and while living away, he would phone daily to speak with his mother.
Chuck is survived by his loving mother, Carolyn; daughters, Cheyenne, Shelby, Sierra, Sasha, Bella; sons, Max and Ethan; grandmother, Rita Murphy; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides his father, Chuck was also predeceased by brother, Tyler McNeil; sister, Bobby-Jolene McNeil and grandfather, Wilson 'Rory' Murphy.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, in Warden United Church, Glace Bay, with Rev. Martha MacDonald officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Gordon United Church Cemetery, Reserve Mines.
As an expression of sympathy for Chuck, memorial donations in his memory may be made to the palliative care society.
