Bertil Erling Hanson, late of Prince Albert, SK, passed peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of November 5, 2015 at the age of 86 years. Bertil Erling Hanson was born on April 18, 1929 in Prince Albert, SK. At the age of six his family moved to the farm at Birch Hills. He went to the one-room New England School. After school he worked as a farmhand and then moved back to Prince Albert. He worked on the crew that built the round house. Later he found employment with the Prince Albert Coop at the Farm Supply delivering fuel to the farmers. He worked there for over 37 years. Bertil met and married Eva Eybersen in 1952. They had three children Nancy, Mark, and Karen. He was very active in his churches and after retirement was a pastoral care volunteer at Herb Bassett and St. Joseph’s homes. He loved his garden, and especially his sweet peas. He would deliver several hundred bouquets to neighbours and patients over the summer months. He loved to go for walks on the riverbanks and camping at Waskesiu. He remarried to Doreen McKenna in 2008. He enjoyed good health most of his life. The last few months he needed extra care which was lovingly provided at the Loewen Care Home. He is survived by his wife Doreen, his children: Nancy (Norman) Carrier, Mark Hanson, and Karen (Patrick) Davis; and his granddaughters Brianne and Meghann Davis. Bertil was predeceased by his wife Eva, his parents Andrew and Nanny, his siblings: Roland, Myrtle Augusta, Edith (LePatourel), Agnes, Wilfred, and Myrtle Evelyn (Archibald).
