It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Margaret Eleanor 'Lena' Browner on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Mary Lidia (Hart) Forbes.
She is survived by son, Joe 'Buddy' Browner; sons-in-law, Henry Hiscock and Myers MacNeil; grandchildren, Henry (Charmaine), Kevin (Lisa), Shawn (Janet), Ryan (Sam), Evan (Karen), Chad (Jessica), Karen (Brent); great-grandchildren, Taylor, Mitchell, Marley, Megan, Braelee, Shawn-Tiffany, Aaliyah, Andrew, Ceilidh and Ryan.
Besides her parents, Lena was predeceased by daughters, Margaret Hiscock and Camilla MacNeil; infant son, Stephen Alexander; daughter–in-law, Phyllis; ex-husband, Alexander Browner and companion, Joe 'Junior' Taylor; brothers, Clarence, Everette, Willie, Rubin, Roy and sister, Dorothy. Margaret was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Visitation will take place on Thursday, Nov.12, 2015 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Friday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. in Patten Funeral Home Chapel.
Donations can be made in Lena’s memory to a charity of choice.
