McMULLIN, RUTH MURIEL (BUCKINGHAM)
1920 - 2015
Ruth Muriel McMullin of Woodstock, wife of the late Medley McMullin, passed away at Riverside Court on November 10, 2015, at the age of 95.
Ruth is survived by her son, Rev. Dr. Stephen McMullin (Rosalie) of Saint John; daughter-in-law Jeannie McMullin of Fredericton; grandchildren Bill McMullin (Danielle) of Edmonton, Sherry Menzies (Kevin) of Edmonton, Nancy McMullin of Saint John, Kevin McMullin (Ashley) of Vancouver; great-grandchildren Morgan, Luca, Garrett, Caleb, Chloe, and Alli; sister Beatrice Lahey (Cecil) of Alban, ON; sisters-in-law Joyce Gibson and Maureen Buckingham, and nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Medley, she was predeceased by her son Gary McMullin; great-granddaughter Jenna; brothers Cyril, Leighton, and Clayton Buckingham; and sisters Ella Cooke, Alethia Harley, Juanita Fewer, and Kathleen Hamilton.
Ruth was born on January 5, 1920, and grew up in Rosedale, the daughter of Ben and Elizabeth Buckingham. She was a devout member of the Woodstock Baptist Church where she was a member of the Helen Good Mission Circle and Quilters. In addition to her many years of quilting every Monday at the church, she made and gave many beautiful quilts to her family members. She was a devoted wife and mother and grandmother and an amazing cook and housekeeper; she worked for many years at Feldman’s Department Store. The family is very thankful for the wonderful care she received from the staff of Riverside Court, especially in these last months as her health declined.
The family will receive visitors at the Culberson Funeral Home, 188 Connell Street, Woodstock, on Monday, November 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 17, at 1:00 PM from The Culberson Funeral Home, with Rev. Leonard Cousins and Rev. Craig Woodcock officiating. Interment will be in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
