Peacefully in his sleep, at Bruyere Hospital in Ottawa on Nov. 4, 2015.
With heavy sadness, William is deeply mourned by his devoted Irish wife of 44 years, Evelyn (Twomey) Briggs, and by his beloved son, Liam Briggs in Taipei, Taiwan.
Born in Donkin, N.S. on May 10, 1934, William 'Billy' was the son of the late Arthur and Cecelia (Barro) Briggs of Donkin and brother of recently deceased Arthur Briggs of Dominion.
Survived by brothers, Gene and Eric Briggs; his sister, Illona Young, their spouses, extended families and caring friends.
It has been William’s most cherished, lifelong wish to be interred close to family in his native Cape Breton Island.
Following cremation service in Ottawa, a committal service will take place at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens’ niche wall, Grand Lake Road, Sydney on Tuesday, Nov. 16th at 2:30 p.m.
