McGUIGAN, GLADYS
The death of Gladys Rose McGuigan of Upper Kent occurred on Monday, November 9, 2015 at her home. Born January 27, 1924 in Drummond she was the daughter of the late John and Phoebe (Walker) Mockler. She was also predeceased by her husband , Neil McGuigan; 13 siblings, Walter, Len, Roy, Lee, Lawrence, Effie, Guy, Percy, Gordon, Ethel, Hazel, Floris and Rex.

Gladys is survived by her three children, Delores McGuigan, Earl McGuigan (Cynthia) and Cathy Pickard; seven grandchildren, Stacey McGuigan, Michelle Chase (Nathan), Kara Alward-McGuigan, Lisa McLaughlin (Darren), Rory Pickard (Tara), Nicole Clark (Chance) and Kaitlen Pickard (Tyler); 10 great grandchildren, Matthew, Kadence, Carter, Keleigh, Cooper, Kamden, Hudson, Casin, Madison and Ellie Mae.

Gladys was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Over the years, Gladys took great interest in needlework for the home and painting, travelling especially close to home, watching and feeding the birds and squirrels, and her dogs. In her last years, she took great pleasure in her cat Gracie, playing cards with neighbours and family, short jaunts in the car, and she dearly loved visits with family and friends. Her greatest joy in life were her children, grand-children, great-grand children and her pets.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Rev. John Tremblett will officiate. A reception will follow at the Beechwood United Baptist Church.
