Elizabeth Dougherty

DOUGHERTY, ELIZABETH
Peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB., November 11, 2015, Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Dougherty. Wife of the late Douglas Murray Leroy Dougherty.

Betty was born December 31, 1925, daughter of the late Charles and Aileen (Stevens) Sinclair.

Betty took pleasure in life's simple things: cooking and baking for her family and friends; serving at church and Legion suppers. She loved to knit and could spend hours creating socks, mittens, hats and scarves for her family and for the CCHA gift shop. She enjoyed many bus trips with her late sister, Mary; spending time with her children and grandchildren; taking part in aquastretch classes at the Civic Centre; and looking after her cat, Patches.

Betty was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion # 9 Ladies Auxiliary.

Survived by her two children, Susan and Kirk (Kimberley), two granddaughters, Megan Dougherty ( Tay Baranec) and Emma Dougherty, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by her husband, her parents, one sister, Mary Gibson.
To honour her desire for a quiet graveside service, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

For those who wish, remembrances to Charlotte County S.P.C.A. or a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.mehanfuneralhome.ca
