It is with broken hearts that we, the family of Wanda Taylor, beloved wife, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney, Wanda was the youngest daughter of the late John Edgar and Helen Eileen (Hines) Sampson.
Wanda grew up in Sydney and moved to Lake O’Law in the early 80s, where later as part owner of The Lakes Restaurant and Campgrounds, she worked for 31 years.
Following her return to Sydney, Wanda was briefly employed with WalMart, Spar Road.
Loved by all who were blessed to know her, Wanda had devoted customers at the Lakes Restaurant who would call in advance to ensure they would see Wanda during their visit. All were drawn to her wonderful, compassionate and humourous nature.
Love for Wanda extended beyond humans to the many animals she welcomed into her home over the years, as well as pets of family and friends.

Many loving cousins and dear friends. Wanda also leaves behind her constant companions, her dog, Alvin and cat, Ace (not Bob).
Besides her parents, Wanda was predeceased by her father-in-law, Art Taylor and brother-in-law, Edwin Taylor.
At this time the family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the palliative care unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, the caring and compassionate nurses of the VON. A special thank you to Bette MacDonald, “Good bye Dear” from “Mini Mary”.
At Wanda’s request cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of life will take place 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Fr.
