It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of a caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. Donald passed away on Nov. 21, 2015 in the An Cala Unit of the CB Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Donald was the son of the late Kenny Dan and Effie (MacQueen) MacLeod of Forchu.
Donnie was a truck driver by trade and was a dedicated and loyal employee of Munincipal Ready Mix for 38 years from where he retired in 2011.
Left behind are his wife of 48 years, Elaine (Keigan); sons, Blair (Donna) of Howie Center, Jason (Amanda) of Framboise; grandchildren, Tyler and Cassie of Howie Center and Kendal, Chance, Faith, Harland and Leeland, all of Framboise. He also leaves behind his devoted sister, Chrissie (Jackie) MacLeod of Sydney. Also left to mourn are his sisters-in-law, Evie (Harvey) Timmons, Big Bras d'Or, Norma (Harold) Delaney, Marion Bridge, Patsy (Ambrose) Lewis, Frenchvale, Fay (Karron) MacLeod, Howie Center and brother-in-law, Greg (Wendy) Keigan, Westmount; sister-in-law, Margaret MacLeod, Inverness. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed by his furry friends, Boots, Sport and Beauty.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, J.C. in 1995.
Visitation for Donald will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 24th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Chant’s Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Forchu United Church with Rev. Nancy Whitney-Lathem officiating.
Memorials can be made to the An Cala unit of the C.B. Regional Hospital or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
