Vivian Fleming, age 90, passed away peacefully at Gables Lodge in Amherst on Thursday, November 19, 2015. Born in 1925, Channel/Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland. She was the daughter of the Late Gladys Jane (Mills) and Frederick William Billard.
She was a member of St. Pauls Anglican Church, I.O.D.E. and volunteered with many organizations in Halifax.
She is survived by son Donald (Toronto), daughter Susan and husband Bill Hiltz (Amherst); grandsons Jacob and Mason; sisters, Phyllis (Corner Book), Joan (Rev. Ronald Lee), St. John's; brothers Robert (Leona), Oakville and Clayton (Violet), Port-aux-Basques. Predeceased by her husband Joseph; sisters, Margaret, and Ruth, and brothers George, Roy and Ralph.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777). As per Vivian's wishes her cremated remains will be interred in the family plot later in the Spring in Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland.
Donations in memory of Vivian may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
