Busse, Albert H.

Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Providence Place Moose Jaw, SK on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the age of 89. Albert was born in Vanguard, SK to Theodore and Olga Busse on May 7, 1926. He was raised on the family farm near Hallonquist, SK with his 7 brothers and 8 sisters and grew up attending the Etrick Bank School. Albert later moved to Moose Jaw where he met Elizabeth (Betty) McLaren and they wed in 1962. Albert worked at various construction jobs in and around Moose Jaw over the years, while still spending time at his farm in Central Butte, SK. Although he retired from Kalium at the age of 65, Albert continued to do his job where his real passion was, out on the farm where he raised livestock, rode his horses with his faithful dogs by his side, and farmed the land up until the age of 81. Albert very much enjoyed working on his farm and caring for his animals and land. He loved to go horseback riding, especially with his granddaughter Shelaine and cherished the hours of teaching her to ride. He loved the rodeo life and in 1953 was instrumental in starting the Hallonquist Rodeo, which continues to be an annual event every July. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Betty (March 2015), his brothers Arthur, Lloyd and Norman, his sisters Irene, Irma, Eldrid and Yvonne. Albert will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Deb Chartrand (Ron VanHook), his son Don Busse, his granddaughter Shelaine Chartrand (Devon Maher), twin great-grandsons Aiden and Liam, his brothers Bob, Rod, Clint, Derald, his sisters Bernice, Doreen, Eleanor and Donna, numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. All those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to meet at Parkview Funeral Chapel at 12:30 pm on Thursday, December 3, 2015 to join in our procession to Rosedale Cemetery. Immediately following the Graveside Service all are invited to a Memorial Tea to be held in The Redpath Lounge at Parkview Funeral Chapel from 1:30 - 3:30 pm.
