YERXA, Wm. DONALD
It is with sad hearts that the family of William Donald Yerxa of Scotch Lake, NB, announce his passing on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. He was 85. Born at Queensbury, NB on October 29, 1930, he was a son of the late Hartley R. and Georgia B. (Palmer) Yerxa.
Donald enjoyed life working at Scarborough Utilities in Ontario for 33 years, retiring home to Scotch Lake in 1985. He enjoyed holidays with family and friends, hunting, fishing and caring for everyone. Donald enjoyed his time working for Scotch Lake Maple Syrup.
Donald is survived by his “child bride” Jessie Marie (Moore) Yerxa; children, Georgie (Brian), Donna (Bob), Jennie and Shawn (Heidi); grandchildren, Maggie Drube (Archie and Abby), Bobby John Donald Yerxa-Gemmell, Shawn Yerxa-Gemmell (Mikallya), Nicholas Yerxa and Lily Yerxa; sisters, Carole (Roy) Cantle and Harriet (Harding) Stairs; sisters-in-law, Ethel Godsoe and Mocelia Yerxa; extra kids, John (Lisa) Harding, Angela (Mike) Young, Barry (Hanna) Ashford, Pauline (Keith) Newman; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son-in-law Doug; brothers, Glenwood, Gilbert and Ralph Yerxa; sisters Kathleen “Kay” Evanoff, Marion Yerxa and Gladys Holyoke.
Visitation will take place at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at which time a memorial service will take place in Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dr. Ross Hebb will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Scotch Lake Cemetery or to a favorite charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
