ELGEE, Jean Evelyn
It is with sad hearts that the family of Jean E. Elgee of Fredericton, NB, announce her passing on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 84. Born at Royal Road, NB on November 16, 1931, she was a daughter of the late George and Stella Anderson and wife of the late Charles Lloyd Elgee. Jean is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Jean was a member of the Greenwood Drive Baptist Church, the Keen Seniors Group and Hummingbird Ladies Group.
She is survived by her son Larry (Joyce); daughters Lois Burrell (Richard) and Brenda Daley (Tim); six grandchildren Rebecca and Evan Elgee, Ashley and Bradley Burrell, Kyle and Travis Daley; a great-grandson Ayden Elgee; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Thelma Dorcas, Gladys Dykeman, Zella Anderson, Inez Hastings and Annie Graham, brothers Elmer and Keith Anderson.
Visitation will take place at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Sunday December 20, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A celebration of Jean’s life will be held from Greenwood Drive Baptist Church on Monday December 21, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cook officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
Memorials in Jean’s memory may be made to the Arthritis Society, Canadian Cancer society or the Kingsley Seymour Cemetery.
