It is with heavy hearts that the families of the late Cecil Oates announce his passing at the Bonne Bay Health Centre, on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2015, at the age of 73 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife: Mary (nee Roberts) of 49 years, his children: Neil (Joanne) and Trudy (Michael) Hewlin, his grandchildren: Mark, Hannah and Gage, his siblings: Vera (Steven) Welsh, Clifford (Gloria) Parsons, Charles (Carrie), Milton, Ivan (Simone), Leah (Chris), Lyman (Debbie), Ross and Verna Bennett, his mother-in-law: Rachel Roberts, sisters-in-law: Muriel (Bob) Payne and Norma (Tom) Knott, brother-in-law: Simon (Sherry) Roberts. Cecil was predeceased by his parents: Mabel and Roy Oates, father-in-law: Leslie Roberts, brother: Wilfred and brother-in-law: Carson Bennett. Cecil also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends. The family will be receiving family and friends at St. Matthews Anglican Church in Rocky Hr, NL, on Friday, December 25th, 2015, from the hours of 7-9 pm, and continuing on Saturday, December 26th, 2015, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where also the funeral service will take place from on Sunday, December 27th, 2015, at 2 pm, with Rt. Rev: Leonard Whitten officiating. In keeping with Cecil's wishes, cremation to follow with the burial to take place at a later date.
