PLATT, LAWRENCE EDWIN
The passing of Lawrence Edwin Platt of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Peggy Ann (Stewart) Platt occurred on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 12, 1935 in Scotch Settlement, NB, he was the son of the late Harold and Annie Platt.
He was a Mechanic at Elm City Chrysler for 39 years. Lawrence was very active with the Nashwaaksis Baptist Church and a member of the Fredericton Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed biking, walking, camping, and the city trail; he greatly enjoyed the outdoors. Lawrence liked to spend time with his friends at the Main Street Tim Horton’s.
Lawrence is survived by his daughters, Susan Cronkhite (Allan) of LaCrete, AB, Heather Hoyt (Darren) of Florenceville, NB and Holly Schriver (Richard) of Douglas, NB; grandchildren, Jonathan and Michelle Cronkhite, Jennifer and Curtis Hoyt and Jeffrey Schriver; sister, Phyllis Brewer; brother, Keith Platt (Barbara); several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother, George Platt.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, January 1, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 2, 2015 at 11 am with Pastor Lawrence Meade officiating.
The family would like to thank Dr. McKim and his staff, EMP Nurses and the staff of 4SE.
