Shand, Helen Marie – 93 of Shag Harbour (Barrington), Shelburne County died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater with her family by her side. Born in Barrington West on April 6, 1922, she was a daughter of the late James and Annie (Nickerson) Adams. She was a member of the Wood’s Harbour Wesleyan Church. She is survived by sons, James (Gloria Shand), Truro, Norman (Hazel Shand), Shag Harbour; daughter, Joan (Eldridge Bolivar), Branch Lahave; sister, Doris Flemming, Shelburne; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bradford A. Shand and three sisters, Ruth, Virginia and Evelyn (at Birth). Visitation will be 7-9p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016 at the H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. Funeral service will be 2p.m., Wednesday at the Wood’s Harbour Wesleyan Church, Rev. Rod Guptil officiating. Burial will be in the Old Farm Cemetery, Shag Harbour. Memorial donations may be made to the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund; Wood’s Harbour Wesleyan Church or the Leprosy Relief Fund Canada.
