JONES, W. ARTHUR
With sad hearts, the family of William Arthur Jones announce his sudden passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 9, 2016. Arthur was 84. Born at Three Tree Creek, NB, he was a son of the late William D. and Christina I. (MacKinnon) Jones.
Arthur was a long-standing member of the Orange Lodge. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to go hunting. He was great handyman especially when it came to applying his carpentry skills. Arthur worked in the Automotive Industry as a Car Salesman for many years
Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Annie (Vandenbroeck) Jones of Fredericton, Arthur is also survived by two brothers, Paul (Shirley) of BC and Don (Clare) of Riverview, NB; five sisters, Pearl Pillsworth of Woodstock, NB, Grace Reemer (Darel) of Fredericton, Isabel Harper of Fredericton, Shirley Estabrooks (Austin) of Waterville, NB and Linda Jones-Manning of Rocky Mountain House, AB; numerous nieces and nephews.
Aside from his parents, Arthur was predeceased by his son Andrew Scott Jones in 2014.
Visitation for Arthur will be held from Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 12:00 Noon until 1:30 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM in Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Richard Bowley will officiate. Interment in the Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions to The Canadian Cancer Society, The NB heart and Stroke Foundation or to a favorite charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
