Anderson, Maxine Margaret (Grant), widow of Donald Anderson of Union Corner, daughter of the late Heber and Ella Grant, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton after a short period of illness. Maxine was in her 92nd Year. Maxine was a compassionate caring person who cared deeply for her family. She worked most of her life as a cook and particularly enjoyed cooking for the Holy Cross Fathers at St. Thomas. She had many hobbies and was happiest when she was busy. She loved to cook and was proud to have authored 2 cookbooks. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with family, reading, and in her earlier days knitting and quilting. She spent the past winter in Rusagonis and enjoyed the community and the Baptist Church there.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Nelson (Leah) Anderson, Reginald (Janice) Anderson, Geneva Anderson, Dennis (Judy) Anderson, her grand children Randy, Lorie, Jason, Barry, Craig and Kurt Anderson and Denise Corey, seven great-grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren. She is survived by one brother Cecil (Marie) Grant, 3 sisters, Helen (Leslie) Williams, Gladys (John) Williams, Geraldine (Ron) McHatten; sister-in-law, Mavis Burke, and brother-in-law Hollis Anderson, former daughter-in-law Gail Anderson and former son-in-law, Bob Hirsch, seventeen God children and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Anderson, 6 sisters Elva (Robert), Wellington, Villa (Mark) White, Edith (Reuben) Doody, Frances (Byron) Farrell, Phyllis (Ronald) Dixon, Josephine (Kenneth) Lutwick, four brothers: Eldon, Robert (Joan), Wilbur (Edna), and George (Marjorie) Grant.
The Culberson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9, on Friday, January 15, 2016. Funeral service will be held from Woodstock Baptist Church on January 16, 2016 at 11:00 am. Donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated. Pallbearers will be nephews and God sons Leigh Williams, Gary Dixon, Doug Grant, Kevin Williams and nephews Peter Lutwick and James Grant.
