HARRY HATCHER
February 9, 1938 – January 17, 2016

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s on Sunday, January 17, 2016, Harry Hatcher aged 77 years. Predeceased by his wife Marjorie (2005); Brother Roy (1984); Parents Henry and Elizabeth; Stepmother Myrtle. Leaving to mourn son John and daughter-in-law Gail (Gates) and his girls, Julie and Jenna. Sisters Minnie Taylor (Tom – deceased), Joan Coleman (Robin), Ann Parsons (Willie) Mary Gharzouzi (Simon-deceased); Brothers Clifford Hatcher (Racheal), Murdock Matthews (Helen). Also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, as well as, many friends and acquaintances. A special thank you to the staff of on the 5th floor of St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, and to the staff of the Health Science Centre Oncology ward.
Your kindness and compassion towards Dad will never be forgotten. We are most appreciative of the care and kindness given in the final hours; acknowledging Dr. Erin Powell, Aunt Ann, Mom Julie, Sharon and Pam. Thank you to all our family and friends who brought meals and held our hands when we most needed it. Visitation took place at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, Rose Blanche Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Petten. Interment will follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, or Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
