BARTON, LORRAINE
The passing of Lorraine Irene Mary Barton (LeBlanc) occurred peacefully on January 20, 2016 with her family by her side at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Lorraine was born April 21, 1931 in Amherst Nova Scotia the daughter of the late Frank and Bessie (Cormier) LeBlanc.
Lorraine was a member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Chipman and St Joseph’s Ladies Society and she had volunteered for numerous years at the Chipman Community Care.
Lorraine is survived by two daughters Anne-Marie Hood of Fredericton and Geraldine Legere of Minto. One brother, Ernest LeBlanc of Fitchburg Massachutes. Three granddaughters Lori Caissie- Simms (Chris) and Sarah Buchanan (Matt Malone) both of Fredericton and Amber Legere of Minto. One grandson Alexander Legere of Fredericton. Two great-grandsons Cooper and Connor Caissie- Simms. She is survived by Phyllis Murray who was a life-long friend, many nieces, nephews and sister-in-laws.
In addition to her parents Lorraine was predeceased by her first husband Ervin Henwood and her second husband Eugene Barton. Three sisters Margaret Chisholm, Theresa Smith and Christina Caissie, and three brothers Frank Leblanc Jr, Aimee Leblanc and Raymond Leblanc and a great-grandson Caden Caissie-Simms.
Visitation will be held at the Chipman Funeral Home on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 am with Father Paul ErZoah-Bebodu officiating.
Donations in memory of Lorraine may be made to Chipman Community Care or the neo-natal unit at the Chalmer’s Regional Hospital in memory of Caden.
