Reginald LeBel

LeBEL, REGINALD "REG" R.
With sad hearts, the family of Reginald “Reg” Roland LeBel announce his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 21, 2016. Reg was 82. Born at Bell Grove, NB, he was the son of the late Emile L. and Marie L. (Belle-Isle) LeBel.
Reg was an Accountant by trade and worked for various companies throughout his working career, most recent being Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton. Reg was a member of the Young’s Cove United Church of Canada, Young’s Cove, NB.
Reg loved his family, friends and music with a passion. He sang for many years with Fredericton’s renowned Bel Canto Singers as well as the Fredericton Choral Society. Throughout his life, he was a strong lead voice in church choirs and was the organist at the Nackawic United Church throughout the 70’s where his wife Ruth also directed the choir.
His music, kindness and dedication were appreciated by many in the faith community, and he shared those gifts generously through the volunteer work he did at local nursing homes and hospitals, most especially at Pine Grove Nursing Home and at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
Reg enjoyed nothing more than sitting at the piano, playing and singing, with his loved ones around him. For his life, and his love of life, he will be deeply and enduringly missed.
His wife, the former Ruth E. Fowler, predeceased him in 2008. He leaves behind two sons, Ashley (Gail) LeBel of Peterborough, ON and Carman (Linda) LeBel of Bayfield, ON; two much loved grandsons, Trevor LeBel of Kingston, ON and Devin LeBel of Peterborough, ON; a sister, Ella Maurer (Erwin) of New Hampshire, USA; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Barrett (Rev. George) of Dartmouth, NS as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife Ruth, Reg was also predeceased by a son, John Allen LeBel.
Cremation will take place and Reg requested there will be no visitation or formal funeral service. Interment will take place in the Young’s Cove United Church Cemetery at a later date.
For those who wish, memorials to the Young’s Cove United Church Cemetery Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton (458-1885) have been entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences and the sharing of memories may be expressed through www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
