THURBER, ELEANOR MAE
With great sadness, the family of Eleanor Mae Thurber of Fredericton, announces her passing on Monday, January 25th, 2016, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Deer Island, NB, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Barteau, Sherman Richardson and Fern (Lord) Richardson and the wife of the late Donald Thurber.
Eleanor was a Home Economics teacher and a member of the Oromocto Baptist Church. She was devoted to her family; a faithful wife, mother and grandmother. Eleanor was loved dearly and will be treasured in the hearts of all her family and friends.
Eleanor is survived by her children, Gail (Neil) Graham, John Thurber, Elaine (Kevin) Currie, Alice Thurber and Madeline (Jon) Carr; grandchildren, Tabitha, Andrew, Jason, Ashley, Noah and Evan; great-grandchildren, Summer Marlene, Layla Ann, Wyatt Kenneth, Ellie Nora; sisters, Cathy Stuart (Don) and Journeay Barteau; brothers Dale (Lucy) Richardson and Dale (Glenna) Barteau as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters Norrine Miner and Maxine Young and a brother, Dean Richardson.
There will be no visitation. However, a celebration of Eleanor’s life will be held in Oromocto and an interment at the North Road Cemetery, Campobello will both be held in the spring.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Oromocto Baptist Church.
