Duncan Nichols

The family of Duncan Nichols would like to thank everyone for the love and support shown to us during the loss of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Special thanks to Don Cooper for the many trips, including wonderful conversations, to Corner Brook with dad during his dialysis treatments and for always going above and beyond; to Dr. Murphy for always treating dad with respect and allowing him to make his own decisions; to the staff of the dialysis unit for their kindness and concern that always made Dad comfortable during his trips there for the last 6 years; to the staff of the DVA unit in Long Term Care for caring for him this past year; to drivers Sean King, Melvin Chaulk and Gary Cooper who dad much appreciated; to the Western Health volunteer Dennis who visited often; to Rev. Myles Vardy for his fellowship with dad and for working with Betty Ann Pelley and the staff of Fillatre’s Funeral Home to deliver the most beautiful, personalized service; to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 3 for the respectful salute and last post; to the United Church Women who hosted the reception; and to everyone who sent flowers or messages of condolences, travelled to attend the service, brought food, made donations to the Janeway Children’s Foundation or helped in any way to ease our sorrow during this difficult time. Although we will miss him forever, he will live in our hearts and the hearts of those who shared our grief during this difficult time.

“His spirit will live on in the current of the river, the rustle of the trees and the vegetables that will grow from his gardens. His memory will live on for all of us long after he is gone.”- Granddaughter Jessica Bell
