The death occurred peacefully, with family by his side, at the Riverview Manor on January 30, 2016 of Fred Herring, formerly of Murray Harbour South. Age 93.
Husband of Viola (Matheson) Herring. Loving father of Garry (Barb), Glen and Sheila, BNRN (Donald) Persaud. Remembered by  grandchildren Rev. Scott (Rebecca) Herring, Crystal, RN (Albert) Connell, Clint Herring, David Herring, Dr. Melissa (Sean) Perry, and Dr. Andrew Persaud and eight great-grandchildren. Survived by sisters Cora (John) Nicholls, Gertrude Frankfurt and Corinne (Bill) Curwin. Remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents, Whitten and Viola (Buell) Herring; grandchildren, Stephanie and Stephen Herring; brother, Luther; and sisters, Nora Penny and Emma Reid.
Resting at Southern Kings & Queens Funeral Home, Murray River for visitation on February 2, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service from Murray Harbour Baptist Church on February 3, 2016 at 2 p.m. Interment later in Murray Harbour Cemetery.
