At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on Saturday, January 30th, 2016; Jean Ferries (Windsor) Hayre, 86, wife of the late Max Hayre, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born in St. John's Nfld, on June 12, 1929, the daughter of the late Stan and Mary (Ferries) Windsor. She was predeceased by her husband Max in 1991. She is survived by her three sons Doug (Janet) of Lower Sackville, NS, Bill (Chris) and David (Margie) of St. Stephen, NB; grandchildren, Scott (Margot), Matt, Adam (Amanda), Heather (Jeremy), Alyson (Rhett), Meghan (Jordan), Luke (Alycia), Lauren; and her great-granddaughter Aubree; her brothers Doug, Stan (Barb) and Frank (Jeanette), and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Jess (Tom) Goodyear, Sarah (John) Finn and brother Bill Windsor, and her special aunt Anna Bartlett. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Being the ultimate hockey fan, she braved many cold arenas supporting both her children and grandchildren. She was an avid traveler and bridge player. She served as a member of the UCW and as a dedicated volunteer for many years with Meals on Wheels and the Charlotte County Hospital Auxillary. The funeral service in celebration of Jean's life will be on Friday, February 12th at 11 am in the chapel of Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB, E3L 2B2, 506-466-3110. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home reception centre. In case of inclement weather, please call the funeral home before venturing out. In lieu of flowers donations to Meals on Wheels, St. Stephen Food Bank or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
