It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Lawrence Ling announce his peaceful passing on Feb. 5, 2016 at his home in Halifax.
Joe was 59 years old, born in Victoria Mines, he was the son of the late Thomas and Florence (MacPherson) Ling.
Joe operated a successful limousine service to the Halifax Airport for many years and had his regular customers who he was very proud to serve. He worked hard at his business but loved every minute of it. He retired for health reasons several years ago. Joe was a kind and caring person, loved to laugh and enjoy an occasional game of bingo or cards with friends. His trips to Cape Breton to see friends and family were always special for Joe, especially to visit his beloved granddaughter.
The family appreciates the kindness and caring of Joe's Halifax friends and neighbours who watched out for him till the end.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Bonaparte and granddaughter, Chasity, Sydney; brothers, John (Ann), Sydney, Bob (Gloria), Mira, Ron (Gail), Sydney and sister, Barbara Baldwin, St John's. Nieces and nephews, Collena, Darrel,Sherry, Linda, Billy, Ken, Chris, Juanita and Justin.
Besides his parents, Joe was preceded by son, Stephen; sister, Connie and brother-in-law, Ken Dyke.
Visitation will take place 12 p.m. Wednesday in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home with a celebration of Joe’s life following at 2 p.m. with Rev Sheldon Chant officiating.
