Peggy lived most of her married life in Westmount in a home filled with hard work, faith, laughter and love. A terrific cook and homemaker, with expert sewing skills, she always made our home our safe haven and our lives richer. She was an active member of Holy Rosary parish and the CWL, school programs and her community. In more recent years, she lived in Parkland Cape Breton, where she continued an active lifestyle with family and friends. Spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was one of the greatest blessings in her life. Many happy family reunions – at home and cottages – centered around Nana Peggy sharing a game of cards, a jigsaw puzzle, a cookie and a hug!
Thank you to Dr. Margaret Fraser, Dr. Peter Jackson, the staff of Parkland Cape Breton,
Holy Rosary CWL, and the greater community of Sydney who have shared and supported Mom so well in her life’s journey. We were all blessed to have had her so very long in our lives.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday, Feb. 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, Westmount at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, with Rev. Douglas Murphy officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
