Bernice Alice (Boutilier) MacDonald was received into Christ’s arms on February 16th, 2016 at home with her family in Calgary.
Bernice was born on September 9th, 1942 to Sarah Janet (MacEachern) Boutilier and Henry Lawrence Boutilier in Thorburn, Nova Scotia, where she lived until she moved to be with her daughter in 2015.
Bernice was a devout Catholic as a member the women’s catholic league and a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Thorburn. She was a gifted seamstress, had a passion for cooking, baking, crafting, and loved music and dancing. She will be remembered for her quick wit as well as her devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving is her Daughter Janice Langille (Robert Cameron), grandchildren Jacqueline Kyle (Todd), Barry Langille II (Aline), Sara Linden (Jonathan), Kate Langille (Corey), her great grandchildren Sebastian and Peyton, sisters Genevieve Whalen and Mary Naugle, brother’s Frank and William Boutilier and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bernice is predeceased by her devoted husband of 45 years “Buddy” Allen MacDonald and her brothers Larry and John Boutilier, and an infant sister Alice Boutilier.
Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held to honour Bernice’s life at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Calgary on February 20th at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at a later date where Bernice will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Thorburn.
